OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) Offers Internships 2022 for International Students. The duration of the training is from 2 to 6 months. The OPEC Fund for International Development is an intergovernmental development finance institution that was established in 1976 by the member countries of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

The OPEC Fund was established at the Conference of Heads of Member States of OPEC, held in Algeria, in March 1975. The official declaration of the conference “emphasized the natural solidarity that unites the OPEC countries with other developing countries. countries in their struggle to overcome underdevelopment,” and called for measures to be taken to enhance cooperation between these countries. The OPEC Fund offers an internship program that enables students from diverse academic backgrounds to experience working with an international organization.

The internship program lasts from two to six months and is designed to:

Interns are assigned to different departments based on their interests and qualifications, and according to the departments’ needs. The internship program provides opportunities to focus on one or more of the following: public sector operations; private sector and trade finance operations; Grant; Financial management; Risk Management; Strategic planning and economic services. internal audit; HR; Administration; Communication; legal services; and information technology.

Criteria for admission to training in OPEC

Applicants must meet the following criteria for training on the OPEC Fund:

Languages Required: Fluency in English. Knowledge of an additional language (eg French, Spanish, Arabic) is an asset;


Eligible Countries: All countries of the world
Computer knowledge in standard software applications (Microsoft Office);


Very interested in working in OPEC.

Applicants must be between the ages of 19 and 25 and be enrolled in an undergraduate program (having completed at least two years) or a graduate program. Alternatively, applicants may be recent graduates, having graduated up to one year prior to the application deadline.
